Endowments

Our most critical strategic asset, The Fletcher School Endowment is a collection of funds, both restricted and unrestricted, that support Fletcher’s strategic priorities, mission, and purpose. The Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees carefully manages these funds to meet current operational needs while protecting the gift of a Fletcher education for generations to come. While the principal of the endowment is kept intact, a portion of the interest income is utilized to support school operations, fund financial aid, provide resources for faculty, and maintain facilities.

Envision Tomorrow Society

Fletcher's first endowment, the Envision Tomorrow Society, was established in the early 2000s by several dedicated trustees and donors. Today, the fund ensures a sustainable source of income for the School, supporting its mission for years to come while strengthening long-term financial sustainability. It also stands as one of the most powerful examples of how leadership philanthropy can secure our future.

The Susie Culp Financial Aid Endowment

Susie Culp served as the Director of Admissions for 25 years. When families heard, "Congratulations, your student has been admitted to Fletcher," that was Susie delivering the good news. As a Fletcher parent herself, she understood the impact Fletcher and its approach to teaching had on children. Upon her retirement in 2020, the Board of Trustees established this fund to ensure any student admitted to Fletcher could attend, regardless of the family's ability to pay.

The Margaret Sigmon Endowment for Faculty Support

This endowment was created to honor Margaret Sigmon's 21 years of service as Fletcher's head of school. Margaret recognized that great faculty are the foundation of an exceptional learning environment, creating the heart and soul of our campus community. She has worked tirelessly through the years to attract, develop, and retain talented teachers. This fund supports faculty professional development, faculty salaries and benefits, the costs of faculty recruitment, and other expenses related to maintaining, supporting, and growing our talented faculty.

The Susan M. Harris Community Spirit Endowment

Susie Harris served The Fletcher School mission and community with exceptional distinction for twenty years, in a variety of leadership roles. Fletcher students have benefited from Susie’s role in expanding and developing the Outside the Classroom Program, allowing our students to discover their talents and interests. This endowment provides funds for programs that take place outside the classroom, including afterschool programming, athletics, and arts.

The Jack Shannon Scholarship

The Jack Shannon Scholarship was established to honor Jack, a Fletcher student who demonstrated all the qualities of a successful student: empathetic, altruistic, hardworking, and persistent. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student who exemplifies Jack’s character.

The Jane K. Crowe Endowed Scholarship

Jane's husband, Patrick, and her son, Tim, and his wife, Stephanie, established this scholarship to honor their wife and mother, Jane K. Crowe. Jane was a lifelong learner and dedicated teacher. Awarded annually, this scholarship is given to a student who shows academic progress and success, and financial need.
