Curriculum

At Fletcher, our curriculum is designed to unlock each student’s future. From kindergarten through twelfth grade, students experience a full and balanced school life, including arts, athletics, executive skills coaching, leadership, and real-world learning. We continue to grow the student experience, which requires top-notch faculty to design and deliver an expanded curriculum. Investing in our people is just as vital as funding for new spaces. With campaign support for teacher compensation and professional development, we will continue to attract and retain exceptional educators, expand course offerings, and ensure students gain the tools they need to soar.

Greater Investments in Faculty & Staff
We will make a greater investment in our amazing faculty and staff by offering competitive salaries and strong benefit packages in addition to more robust professional development opportunities—including certification and recertification in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. We will retain and recruit the best teachers, building our team of well-qualified instructors and enabling us to offer more courses while maintaining small class sizes.

Executive Functioning Skills
A stronger emphasis on executive functioning skills will help students learn to set and achieve goals, stay flexible in the face of challenges, manage stress, and develop other crucial practical life skills that are critical to success in school and beyond.

Electives and Dual Enrollment
We will broaden our curriculum by adding innovative electives and dual enrollment pathways that allow students to explore their interests with the opportunity to earn college credits. These opportunities will challenge students academically, deepen their preparation for higher education, and highlight Fletcher’s commitment to being a destination school.

Beyond the Classroom
Extracurricular and afterschool activities will give Fletcher students the chance to explore the athletic, artistic, leadership, and socioemotional growth opportunities available to their peers at other Charlotte schools.
